We provide you with a list of Sherry wines and pairings to try. We strongly encourage you to try these wines during the course of your studies.
Online Wine Course Structure
This is a self-paced course and should take approximately 17-23 hours including study time to complete.
There are quizzes at the end of each section and a Final exam at the end of the course.
Online Sherry Wine Course Entry Requirements
Although there are no requirements to take the APWASI Online Sherry Wine course, we recommend that you complete Wine Essentials 1 and Wine Essentials 2 (or equivalent, check out our Course Comparisons) before proceeding with this course. You must also be of legal drinking age in the country where you are attending the course if you will participate in the tasting of wines.
Upon completion, you will receive an APWASI certificate and pin.

Sherry has been called “the world’s most under-appreciated wine”. Difficult and time-consuming to make, this labour-intensive wine has been, for centuries, one of the most distinct wines in the world.
Learn about all the different styles of sherry, from the completely dry Finos to the rich, lusciously sweet cream sherry’s. Journey with us to the south of Spain and discover the solera system, the unique aging system that is so important to this enduring wine.
History and culture joined together with the climate grapes and regions are explained. Laws are defined, explained and each session we introduce the different styles of sherry from Fino to PX.
